Standard Reports
The Standard Reports that can be run against the Saved Database Batch File
to aid in the analysis. Once a report is run it will add an item to
the database View that will allow you view the structures that have been found
by the reports criteria which are set in the Report Options.
As well as the standard reports you may run adhoc
reports.
The table below details the different types of reports that may be run

Creating Adhoc Reports
The Adhoc Report form allows you create your own
Adhoc reports against your database, it is initiated by clicking on the Adhoc
report button on the toolbar. You have all the Database and
Structure Attributes available with the option to compare to your defined
values. Once the report is defined it will be processed and included in the
end Adhoc Reports node.
Run Report Against - This selects
which structures you want to run the report against. The default is to run
against all structures that fit your report criteria. Alternatively you
may select a previous run report as the basis for your new report, this will
mean that only structures reported in the previous run will be considered in the
new run. Through this method of combining report criteria you are able to
complete complex selection criteria.
Include - Allows you choose to
report against all structures, Datasets only or Sets only. This field is
automatically changed when the Data item selected can only be executed against
Datasets or Sets.
Where - Allows you to define the criteria for the structures that you
wish to report against. These include:-
Data Item Name - One of the attributes that Virtual Analyser captures
Relation - context sensitive to the type of data to be reported
Value - Value to used as the selection criteria
Include Null and Zero Values - Whether or not you wish to include null or zero
values in your output
Sorted - Allows you to define if the
Output should be Ascending or Descending
Saving Adhoc Reports
Once you have created your report you may save it so
that it may be run again in the future. By selecting the Save Report
check box you are able to add a comment to the report. You are then also
given options to Save the Report or Save and Run the report.
Rerunning Adhoc Reports
To rerun an existing report you initiate the Adhoc Report Dialogue and click
the Show Saved Report Button. This will then list all the saved reports in
the descending order that they were defined. To run a specific report
select the report and Click the Load Report button. This takes you to the
report creation view where you may execute it.
Removing Adhoc Reports
You are able to remove Adhoc reports
from the Database View by one of two methods.
The first is to select the 'Remove All
Adhoc Reports' menu choice which removes all the
Adhoc Reports from the Database View.
Alternatively you may select individual
reports in the Database View and click the delete button on the
toolbar.
Report Options
This form allows you to select the
values that will be used by the
Standard Reports as parameters when they are initiated.
The values which can be changed are:-
