Virtual Analyser Summary

This Virtual Analyser is designed to illustrate the logical and physical structure of Unisys DMSII databases across your enterprise NX/ClearPath Server in an intuitive informative way.  Through analysing your database directly Virtual Analyser is able to analyse your population levels and help you identify problem areas of your logical and physical design of your DMSII Databases.

Through this you will be able to improve your databases design and reduce batch run times and on-line response times.  This will then save your company money as upgrading a machine due to poor database design and implementation will no longer be a cause.

There are programs for the Server to enable an both a batch file creation utility and/or a real time interactive analysis of the DMSII Database and a Client Program for the Analysis of the extracted data.

The programs cater for the analysis of Standard Disjoint Datasets and Index Sequential Sets as these are the commonest and those primarily used by LINC systems implemented in DMSII.  The programs also collect some data on other structure types but not populations as the Server analysis of the internal structures would result in very lengthy proecss time.  For these structure types population estimations are given.
