Reports
Whilst viewing Data Structures in the
Database View you are able to use the Right Click Function to navigate to other
parts of the treeview structure.
Right Click Function
The Right Click function in the Database
View is context sensitive and will display options based upon the currently
selected item in the left hand treeview. Generally the right click
functionality is only available when a specific data structure has been
selected.

Description File Information
The Description file is the machine
readable version of the DASDL file and therefore holds all of the static
definition of the database. This includes the global attributes of the
database, structure definitions, data items and attributes.
The Description File is primarily used
for compiling software which will run against the database. It does not
form part of the running database.
Below is a summary of the items that can
be found under the Description File in the treeview.

Control File Information
The Control File is the file used by the
run time database to hold global and structure information. The
information in the control file is dynamic and will change as the database is
active. The information in the batch file is a snapshot of this dynamic
information at the time of capture.
Below is a summary of the items that can
be found under the Control File in the treeview.

Data Files Information
When a data file structure is selected in the left hand
treeview data about the structure is displayed on the right hand side. The
data displayed is context sensitive and will show the data suitable to the
selection made. By selecting the Data Display option
graphics you may view other data about the structure.
Below is a summary of the items that can
be found under the Control File in the treeview.
Data View
The Data View allows you to view the internal formats of the Data Structures.
This is achieved through a combination of captured Batch File data and data
captured real time through the Named Pipe interface.
Only one structure may be viewed in the Data View format at one time.
Once you have selected to view a structure in the Data View format you are able
to remove the structure by selecting the structure and clicking on the
delete button on the toolbar.
Below is a summary of the items that can
be found under the Data View in the treeview.
